Create a Deck card out of text
Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. We do protocols with text. Often the result is something needs to be done. For this we use deck, So after our session someone needs to manually copy tasks to deck.
Describe the solution you'd like If you select a text, the existing hover menu should be extended by a create a Card Button. After a click on this button, there should open the same popup I get, when I go to a talk message and click on the "..." - button and then on "Create a Card".
I think that would be an interesting integration similar to how we do it with talk/deck already, though the UI should probably be prepared for multiple actions then as I could imagine this would be useful for creating calendar events or tasks as well. cc @skjnldsv @ChristophWurst
This seems doable and already specified quite well as we would mostly like it to behave as in talk. We are currently focusing on fixing bugs and have not started feature development for the next release. This seems like a good candidate but also not high priority.
In order to implement this some decisions are still needed:
How do you select what get's turned into a card?
My gut feeling would be the current selection if there is one - but this could also be the current item you are on or so.
How do you trigger the card creation?
We could add it to the menubar but that already is quite crowded. It could also be part of a menu bubble like links used to be - but we've had issues with positioning menu bubbles. So not sure here.
We've been working on integrating other parts of nextcloud with text. So far we've worked on mentions, file previews and previews to links. If we were integrating deck tasks this feature would even become more useful because then the task could be seen inside the text document.

This is possible nowadays with the smart picker. If you have deck and text installed, just type / in your document to open the smart picker and search for "Create a new deck card there"
