Back button unexpected on large screens

On larger (iPad) screens, the "Back" button to go back to the list of conversations is useless as they are already shown in the sidebar.

The button should only show up on smaller screens.

Hey, actually no, it is intended to leave the current conversation, which has implications such as receiving push notifications. So while I get your point, it’s useful nonetheless :-)

@SystemKeeper Okay, I see your point.

Unselecting an item like this is still odd from a design POV, people don't usually do it this way and it could probably be handled differently.

How about tapping on the selected conversation again (or empty space in the sidebar) to "unselect" it and removing the back button anyway? That seems to be a more common pattern.

Actually thought about this a bit more, and it would make sense to have this on the web as well now.

Still unsure about the back button but if we wouldn’t have consistent behavior with the web, unselecting by toggling the item seems odd too.

Maybe tapping on empty space only as that seems to be the most general pattern. The issue is the lack of empty pace with a lot of conversations.

This is solved in latest test flight
