Accept links for public chats
With a lot of people being on mobile, I think it would be a neat addition to allow a user to enter a public chat link as a way to "sign in", since I can already send a public chat link to someone and have them enter the chatroom in a web browser. If I just want to have a quicky chat with someone, they can just install the app, enter the URL and we can get to business. Otherwise I'd have to create an account for them (assuming I'm an admin) and have them do the whole sign-in process and so on.
This is a must have feature. Users should join public rooms on mobile app
@Ivansss In light of the need for virtual collaboration tools during the COVID-19 pandemic, any chance this will be coming soon? Would be awesome to be able allow guests to join calls from their iOS devices without an account. Great app overall. Thanks.
This feature sadly won't come in the next major release (Talk iOS v10.0). We are aware that this is an important feature and it has chances to be included in the roadmap for the following major version (Talk iOS v11.0) :)
There is no public roadmap for Talk 11 on iOS yet, isn't it?
How do you decide whether to include this feature for the next release? Or in which other release it would fit in well.
There is also an open issue on this topic in Talk for Android. https://github.com/nextcloud/talk-android/issues/261
Is there currently any movement or roadmap for this essential feature?
Meanwhile we're approaching Talk 15 and not 11 as mentioned above ...
