NC Talk Client for Win11 (v1.1.5) Does not load media (even thumbnail previews) in chat

NC Talk Client for Win11 (v1.1.5) Does not load media (even thumbnail previews) in chat. This issue is not present in the web browser or the iOS client. I need to "Go to File" every time I receive a media file from a user in the conversation or group.

Steps to reproduce

1.Start conversation (private or group with users) 2.Receive media (images, docs, etc.) in the chat from the other user 3.Try to open or load the media within the Talk app

Expected behaviour

Media should load with thumbnail preview without having to open the same in the web browser or Files app

Actual behaviour

Media does not load, with error message - "Can't load the file"

It can be found in the About window (open from the menu or via F1 and click on "Copy report" button).

In the developer tools, could you open the network tab and check if there are failed requests for these files? If there are, could you share the error?

Hi,

Thank you for the response. Whenever I click on the media, I get this error in the Network tab of the dev tools (Looks like its says 404 Not found) :

I was not sure how to copy the error message, please let me know if there is a log file that you need?

Is that correct that you have files preview disabled on the instance?

Hi,

I am unable to check that. I’m not able to find the File Preview app in the store as well. Please let me know if it’s a setting in the administration page that I have misconfigured.

Please let me know if you need more info or any details from the log? I looked up the "Files Preview" setting but this what I was able to find. https://docs.nextcloud.com/server/latest/admin_manual/configuration_files/previews_configuration.html

I am not able to find any app or settings in the AIO webpage to change this. Thanks for your help!

So, I was able to read the config.php file and I can see that previews are enabled.

Hi @ShGKme ,

Looks like this issue is fixed for me. I recently updated server-side containers. I did not have to update the Desktop Talk app. Nextcloud Hub 10 (31.0.5) is the version I am running now.
