"Guest is typing" instead of User in direct chat?

Open Ducking2180 opened this issue 1 month ago • 3 comments

Steps to reproduce

  1. User A starts a direct conversation to user B
  2. User A starts typing
  3. Switch to user B

Additional information

This issue happens randomly.

It could be that this is a fallback where a typing message was received, but the app did not know the display name of the user yet?

So it could be a race condition?

Thanks for reporting, not sure if i understand the scenario correct.

Are both users using android talk or is one using web? By "Switch to user B" you mean user B is typing while there is still the typing indicator for user A?

@mahibi

In my case both users are using android talk.

In simple words it's like:

John starts typing to Marie, but Marie sees "Guest is Typing" instead of "John is Typing"

Thats all i see.
