Physical keyboard no keybinding for sending a message

Open PeterSurda opened this issue 4 years ago • 1 comments

Steps to reproduce

  1. Connect a physical keyboard to your Android
  2. Type a message inside a conversation and hit "Enter"
  3. A newline is added into the text field
  4. Hit "Ctrl-Enter"
  5. Nothing happens

Expected behaviour

Other chat apps on android tend to duplicate the behaviour of physical keyboards for "Enter" as desktop operating systems, i.e. "Enter" sends a message, while "Ctrl-Enter" adds a newline. I wouldn't even mind if it was reversed in Talk, the problem is there doesn't appear to be a way to send a message from they keyboard, I need to use the mouse or touchscreen.

Actual behaviour

"Enter" adds a newline. "Ctrl-Enter" does nothing.
