Save as button in file register

Open derStephan opened this issue 4 months ago • 1 comments

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.

Save as is currently possible by hitting F12. However this is not very intuitive when you are more used to clicking stuff.

Describe the solution you'd like

Add a save as button next to save.

Describe alternatives you've considered

An alternative would be to change the current save button to save as. The current save button is pretty useless due to autosaving anyway.

You might be browsing a file where you are not able to save relative to the file, e.g. if you open a single file public share link. There should be a save as button next to the save one:

The need of a save button had been discussed quite a couple of times already, however it turned out a lot of users expect it to be there somewhere and otherwise feel unsure about if their changes are persisted.

Can you double check if you have the save as button if you just create a new file as a user?
