Restrict editing to specific file-types

Open rgl1234 opened this issue 8 years ago • 4 comments

Hi There is already the functionality to restrict editing to a specific group of users. What would be nice also is, if there were the possibility to restrict editing not only to groups but also to specific file-types.

Example: I would like to allow editing only for files "odt, ods, odp, ....". Files like "xlsx, docx, ..." should only be opended in read-only mode. Otherwise clean Office-Files might be corrupted by Collabory Office (LibreOffice)

Does this make sense?

Best regards René

Hi, I would also like not to open some file-types at all because I currently open OpenXML files in collabora.

Thanks a lot, Laurent

I think Collabora is an amazing piece of work, however the lack of this configurability is preventing me from deploying it on our network. It's a well recognised issue that there is broken compatibility between MS Office & LibreOffice documents, so Collabora shouldn't be trying to open MS Office documents by default.

I would like to also be able to disable Collabora Online for publicly shared png files
