Hi, just to let you know, I'm still interested in allowing parallel preview generation.

I implemented the first part in the linked PR (pre-generate).

I'll get to the generate command next. I'd prefer a solution free of locks as they entail additional complexity. I already have an idea for the implementation and will start working on it soon.
