Add range and “select all” functionality in Nextcloud Photos

Category: Feature Request / Photos App

Description: In the Nextcloud Photos web app:

Users can select multiple photos, but currently must manually click the small checkbox on each photo individually.

There is no way to:

  1. Drag-select multiple photos.
  2. Select a group of photos by clicking one photo, holding a key, and clicking another photo to select everything in between (like Shift+Click in Windows Explorer).
  3. Select all photos in the current view/album or all photos in a month.

This makes managing large photo libraries extremely tedious, especially for users used to Google Photos or OneDrive, where range selection and “select all” are standard.

Expected behavior / Desired functionality:

Range selection:

  1. Ability to select multiple photos at once by clicking one, holding a key (Shift), and clicking another to select everything in between. Optional: click-and-drag selection.
  2. Select all in section: A single button to select all photos in the current view, album, or month.

After selection, users should be able to: Move or copy photos to folders.

After having just clicked over 600+ times to select photos for an album, I would wholeheartedly like to second this request.

So sad, there is no response after a month. That functionality totally should be there. It's an only reason why I'm considering between Immerich and Nextcloud photos, which Nextcloud could win with that simple functionality
