Keepass Import has Unclear Instructions

Open gohrner opened this issue 6 years ago • 2 comments

I wanted to import passwords from Keepass. The importer says I should select the shown export options in Keepass: http://i.imgur.com/CaeTA4d.png

However, I could not find any way to make the Export Options window shown in the screenshot appear. There is only a "Keepass 1.x CSV" export in Keepass 2.38, and it never asks for options. It only exports a subset of the options shown in the dialog in the abovementioned screenshot.

Bug report

Steps to reproduce

  1. Open passman, a Vault, and the Vault settings
  2. Go to "Anmeldeinformationen importieren" (import credentials)
  3. Select "Keepass CSV" importer.
  4. It will tell you to "Create an csv export with the following options enabled: http://i.imgur.com/CaeTA4d.png"
  5. Open Keepass and try to find the Export Options dialog shown in the screenshot.

Expected behaviour

Keepass should be able to show the "Export Options" dialog referenced in the documentation screenshot.

Actual behaviour

Keepass (version 2.38 in my case) will export CSV without giving any options to configure the export or the information contained therein, and there does not seem to be any obvious way to get to this "Export Options" dialog.

We can't control how keepass manages export.... If they changed the way to export things we would love to know how to get it working.

If you give us some details, screenshots (preferably in english) and info to update the information that passman should show on the latest version that would be nice.

Well, I wasn't able to figure out a way to get KeePass to export the data the way Passman expects... So I probably cannot help here.

I also abandoned Passman in favour of a synced KeePass container, as it did not (yet?) seem to be ready for production use when tried it last autumn. (I understand it's a volunteer project, so that's no criticism, just an observation, which in the end let me chose KeePass instead.) So I also cannot do any real tests with Passman at the moment as well.
