Add "direct download button" to podcasts on the feed instead of having to press play?

Hello!

I'm wondering if there could be a small UI change for Podcasts, so that instead of having to press "Play" to get the download button there is a direct "Download" button? I don't know how big code change something like this would be, but in my experience it would improve the UX quite a bit. :) Especially for new users, since I had three people ask me how to download podcasts in the app since they just didn't try the play button. :)

I understand if this is not something for the app, so feel free to just close the request if that is the case!

Keep up the amazing work.

Thank you @TobiasDev for your feedback. Indeed I understand that this can be quite confusing at first. At this point I am not certainly sure how we could integrate this into the app since we have multiple different views that need to be changed and we have only limited space available. Here are some screenshots from the app showing the different views and the limited space at hand.

Hmm. I see the problem for sure. I just had a look at AntennaPod and their solution was to make the play button a download button, meaning that if you want to stream the episode you have to open it the episode first. (See attached screens). And once the episode is downloaded the buttons changes into a play button.

One of the screens is before and the other after I downloaded two episodes. However, I'm not sure that would be a good solution. Mostly since I'm not sure if people stream episodes often or first download them. I personally always download but that doesn't mean everyone does.

Before download

After download

I'm also wondering if another solution would be that the star mark for podcasts is turned into a download button since there is a "swipe to star mark".

Hmmmmm. You are right this is a though question.

A third option would be to have long and short swipe options. E. G. I'm swiping over 60% och my phone lenght and that is a third and fourth option. (One of them could be download or such).

Let me think about this, maybe there is something more elegant. :) or you already have the best solution! That could definitly also be the case! :)
