Some radio stations divide their podcasts into a lot of very small snippets. It would be nice if you didn't had to play each snippet manually but rather you could start one snippet and the succeeding snippets would automatically be played by the app. In this setting, which could be configurabel per feed par example, the feed is used more like a playlist. I would suggest streaming ist the reasonable default for this configuration although you could think of other usefull behaviors. The autoplay has to be stopped by the user manually but also a change from wifi to mobile broadband could be a trigger.

This would be a huge usability improvement for me. I don't like using podcast apps as I can't switch between my phone and my media center and have it available on both. At the same time, it drives me crazy that if I listen to 30 short episodes while I'm out, that I need to keep stopping, going back to the app and hitting play over and over.

IMO, feed settings should be addressed in OwnCloud News proper. Then support can be added. E.g. OwnCloud News support per-feed ordering.
