`… > Read Out` does not read article

Filed this as https://github.com/nextcloud/news-android/issues/1317 but that is moot and gone, unsure why.

So here goes again:

Steps to Reproduce

1. in an article view tap … > Read Out
2. player UI opens at the bottom, but no audio is heard, timer shows 00:00 and play marker never starts moving.

It would be highly welcome to be able to have articles read out. Should this be working? Am I misunderstanding this feature?

System Information

• News app version: 0.9.9.83
• Nextcloud version: 27.1.2
• OS: Android ArrowOS 13.1

And https://github.com/nextcloud/news-android/releases/tag/v.0.9.9.84 dependency updates (or Google system update?) fixed the issue. Closing.

This problem is back in

• News app version: 0.9.9.90
• Nextcloud version: 29.0.9
• OS: Android ArrowOS 13.1 + Android 15 LineageOS 22

Additional testing results in Audio being played on Android 15.

View issues:

• language not correctly detected and german read as english (probably android issue)
• while progress is increasing as article is read, the timer values on left and right both stay at 0:00
