Inline images cannot be saved even when they display correctly

Open pawelbielesz opened this issue 1 month ago • 1 comments

Steps to reproduce

  1. Receive an email containing an inline embedded image (e.g. PNG/JPG inside the message body, not as a separate attachment).

  2. Open the message in the Mail app.

  3. If the inline image displays correctly, click on it or open the context menu to try saving it.

  4. There is no option to download/save the image.

Expected behavior

Inline images that are displayed in the message body should offer a way to:

Save the image,

Download it as a file,

or Save to cloud (similar to normal attachments).

The user should not lose access to embedded graphics.

Actual behavior

Inline images display but cannot be saved in any way.

No “Save”, “Download”, or “Save to cloud” option is available.

The only workaround is to take a screenshot, which reduces image quality.

Thanks for the report.

I'm not able to reproduce the problem. Images can be saved here.
