Impossible to find an unread mail in a discussion

Steps to reproduce

  1. Have a discussion
  2. Let some mail unread
  3. try to find unread email via 4.Image

Expected behavior

All the unread emails are found

Actual behavior

The unread emails are not found in the discussion

Confirmed. Unread count is fine, though.

Yes you see the counter of unread messages being > 0 You try to find the unread emails via number 3. No emails are found Note the counter number is correct.

@GretaD Here is my understanding, from my experience:

  1. On a GMX mailbox, I have a "github" folder with sieve filter for github notifications
  2. In a thread (same github issue), I have an old unread mail and one recent read mail. The unread mail is not shown in the messages list because it is inside a thread.
  3. Filtering on unread returns "no messages in this mailbox".

My guess is that filtering is applied only to last messages in each t hread (i.e. messages shown in the list) and not the others

@mat-m you are right, i tested a bit around and ended up in the scenario you are describing. We should improve that.

@GretaD In my case, the unread message is in the middle of the thread. I also noticed that the header does not have the dot that tells us it's unread, so we can't find it visually either.

had the same problem

just found out, if you add starting and ending date, then it will find the mails
