Steps to reproduce

iPhone

  1. Use an iPhone with Dynamic Island (might also possibly affect models with notch)
  2. Open an image file that covers the entire length of the phone
  3. Watch as the Dynamic Island partially covers the image

iPad

  1. Open an image file that covers the entire length of the tablet
  2. Watch as the "Files Favorites Media Activity More" header partially covers the image

Expected behaviour

iPhone

Client app should account for the Dynamic Island for images that are high/wide enough to partially render beneat it and slightly downscale the image. This does not need to happen when zooming in on the image, however.

iPad

Client app should hide the header when image files (or any other type of files) are open. If I want to switch between Files, Favorites, Media, Activity, or More, I can close the file first and return to the folder view.

Actual behaviour

Image files are partially obscured by the Dynamic Island on iPhones that have one. They are also partially obscured by the header on iPads. This can obscure certain details at the top end of the image, and it is impossible to scroll up, as this will immediately close the image file.

Logs

No logs.

Reasoning or why should it be changed/implemented?

This partially obscures the top-center of an image. This can be bad depending on what type of image it is:

  • Schematics: can cover text, making it hard to read
  • Concept art: can cover certain details
  • Photos: can be distracting, especially on iPad due to the size of the header
