Users cannot login to version 7.0.1 even though logs show Login Successful
Using Nextcloud AIO version Version [Nextcloud Hub 10 (31.0.6)
And Nextcloud iOS 7.0.1 - users are now not able to achieve a successful login to the APP.
With a fresh install of the app, they enter the server address and come to the login screen
Enter username and password
Click on Grant Access then it goes back to login screen and this message in logs
"message": "Login successful: "REMOVED"", "userAgent": "Mozilla/5.0 (iOS) Nextcloud-iOS/7.0.1", "version": "31.0.6.2",
Waited and no change
After tried again and it said Access forbidden - State Token Missing
and this message in logs
"message": "Logout occurred", "userAgent": "Mozilla/5.0 (iOS) Nextcloud-iOS/7.0.1", "version": "31.0.6.2",
If selecting Log in with a device (for accounts that have that set up) - entering the user name and clicking Log in - nothing happens - no indications - nothing.
iOS version on phone is 18.5 (22F76)
Tried to reboot phone and same thing
Seeing this with multiple users
The only way I could get an iOS client to successfully login with this new version was to open the NC account on a computer or Safari, go to security tab in NC, generate an app password and scan that QR code (have to print off the QR code or show it on another device ) with the Nextcloud iOS app or using the created app password.
Trying to login with the valid credentials of the account or using an already signed in account on Nextcloud Talk (the popup to do this also comes up to try this in the Nextcloud iOS app) does not work either.
Scanning QR code threw up the same error for me. Server version 31.0.6 Docker AIO, iOS app version 7.0.1
Same problem: After upgrading to 7.x, the Nextcloud iOS app was logged out again β something that has happened far too often after updates (a really frustrating experience).
This time, however, I was unable to log in again using the normal login flow. Thereβs no visible error message β after entering the 2FA code, I'm simply redirected back to the username/password prompt (I am now using v7.0.1).
However, creating an app password and scanning the QR code worked and allowed me to log in.
The login attempts did not create any log entries in Nextcloud server v31.0.7.
Any update on this issue?
Still no dice on logging in through the app. Regardless of the method (TOTP, Fido token, App Password, etc.) Server version 31.0.6, iOS app 7.0.2
Any update on this issue?
App updated to 7.0.5 Same result with TOTP. Client registers on server end and see screenshots above on the phone.
Edit: QR code also doesn't work with the same error message. π
Edit 2: Funnily enough, also cannot log in with iOS Talk 21.1.1 app. As in I didn't use it before and can't even log into the Talk app itself. With no error message on the client side at all. Just back to login screen immediately. Will make an issue in their repo later today. May be something linked?
lots of these in the logs
"POST /login/v2/poll?token=[redacted] HTTP/2.0" 404 545 "-" "Mozilla/5.0 (iOS) Nextcloud-iOS/7.0.5" "-" 0.036
the account backend is ldap so i can't make QR codes can i?
why a 404?
edit: logging in with an app password worked!
7.0.6 β no change on client side. Still can't log in.
app version 7.0.6
server version 31.0.7
PHP 8.3.8
I see lots of 405 / method not allowed on the post requests.
[31/Jul/2025:19:22:28 +0200] "POST /index.php/login/v2/poll?token=<token> HTTP/2.0" 405 0 "-" "Mozilla/5.0 (iOS) Nextcloud-iOS/7.0.6"
Still having this issue on
Nextcloud Hub 10 (31.0.7)
Nextcloud iOS 7.0.7
Also still cannot login. App version 7.1.1
Problem still exists on 7.1.2.2
Any updates or why does this problem exist??
Problem still exists - version 7.1.3
Tried downgrading to 7.0.6 and the problem exists there. As I mentioned in my previous post, the problem exists in the most current version as well.
Any update on this? Users still cannot login to the iOS app unless they create an app password
Version 7.1.7 connecting to Nextcloud AIO 31.0.9
Any update on this issue, please?
Checking in again to see if this is going to ever be fixed? It's still not working Users can only login to iOS app if they create an app password.
