Feature request
I want to keep images and videos on the iPhone for some days to easily show and send them to other people. Doesn't actually make much sense to download them again for that. Still, I also want to use the auto-upload feature and delete the successfully uploaded image and video files. Currently I am hasitant to open the iOS Nextcloud app, because it will delete media files that I still wanted to use on the phone.
The solution I am thinking of is to add a new setting next to the auto-upload only new fotos/videos switch. It could be named Days before upload or similar.
As an alternative, my problem would also be solved if the upload does not happen automatically, but only when triggered manually. But that is a bit strange to have a manually triggered auto-upload.
Perhaps a 'keep x days after upload' option would be better? Then at least if something happens to your phone meanwhile it has been uploaded already.
That would be even better, if it does not become difficult to handle internally.
Hi, not sure I understand your question. Auto-upload does not delete existing media files on device, it merely copies them and uploads them to your instance.
Sorry, I did not explicitly mention that in the description. I use auto-upload in conjunction with "Remove from camera roll" in "Advanced" settings.
Instant upload is actually fine, as already pointed out by @hurenkam.
So my request would be to add an adjustable grace period to the "Remove from camera roll" setting. Like "Remove from camera roll after X hours", where 0 hours would correspond to the current behavior. What do you think?
