how to disable caching in ios app

Open PratikMahajan opened this issue 2 years ago • 4 comments

before v4.9.2.20, nextcloud did not cache files automatically and explicitly download files without me manually asking it to download. After latest update, it downloads random files for caching putting unnecessary load on the server while also taking unnecessary space on the device.

How do i disable this behaviour in the app for a single account or for all accounts logged in to nextcloud app.

PS: this seems like a recent change as this behaviour did not exist in previous versions, or did exist but had a knob to disable.

Hi, yes, we known this bug, will be fixed in text version.

Which part will be fixed? The random downloads or the caching issue. The latter seems to be a more general one (see #372 and related) so having an option to disable caching would be welcomed.

I agree with having a knob to disable caching. WRT random downloads, maybe, for now, we should only cache the files that are opened and decide about intelligent caching later.

It's a big Problem using different IOS Devices. In my case I open and edit a file in Iphone A. Close it, wait 10 to 15 Minutes and open it on Iphone B where it was opened before editing it on Iphone A. On Iphone B it opens the unedited and cached file. Always going to delete Cached is uncomfortable. Whish the Button no Caching back.
