Update: looks like this is an issue with SElinux. It is working if it is turned off.

Yepp, same here with Nextcloud 22.1.0 Docker. Instead of opening the .whiteboard File in Spacedeck after clicking on it, the Browser Downloads the File.

Same behavior for me, as OP described. Running Nextcloud 23.0.2. Installed as a docker app on UnRAID 6.9.2.
