Email not sending when I create new Guests

I tried making a guest account for testing and I wasn't receiving an email to make a new user.

I followed the warning here by adding my admin as the group admin and then tried again with the same email for testing and still no invitation was sent to the email. Email is working fine, and I'm on version 27.1.2. The only way to make it work so far that I've found is I have to resend the invitation to join in the user settings, but shouldn't this be done automatically when I set up the share? image

Also, when I resend the Welcome invitation to the guest account I just created, it doesn't allow them to login, will they have to send the forgot password to themselves? I need this process to be streamlined for the client I am trying to sell this to.

What do you get in the elogs when you create the guest user?

And yes the uer has to use the forgot password if they didnt get the first welcome email where they are prompted to set their password.

Are you creating the guest via Invite user from a share or are you using the occ command? The former sends the invite email, but the occ command only creates the guest account (i.e. no email).

The reason is because the email actually gets generated at the first share attempt. The occ approach doesn't create a share.
