Gallery description not loading

Steps to reproduce
- create gallery.cnf in root of nextcloud
- populate with:

description: This is an **album description** which is only shown if there is no `description_link`
description_link: readme.md

- create subdirectory and upload a photo
- create readme.md text file in subfolder with any contents
Expected behaviour
Upon viewing in gallery clicking the i for description should show the contents of readme.md (or the description line if readme.md doesn't exist)
Actual behaviour
The i for description shows "Could not load the description"
