subtitle support

Open robsoncloud opened this issue 4 years ago • 7 comments

Server version 16.0.2

Expected behaviour

subtitle options show up on the video player

Actual behaviour

I have some video along with its subtitle but the video player app does not load the srt file.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Open a video .mp4 from a folder that contains a srt file with same name + en.srt video.mp4 and video.en.srt
  2. Play the video
  3. Subtitle is not available

Unfortunately, the test version of the new video player that has support for subtitles never made it to live.

That is really a shame. It is something that would take Nextcloud to another level.

Requesting this. This was borderline ridiculous not to have long, long ago. Now it's just plain ludicrous. I don't want excuses or a alternative ways to accessing them such as with Kodi/WebDAV. It's not a lot to ask to be able to handle all of that in your login page. I understand beggars can't be choosers but subtitles are not where that line is.

Fyi, embedded subtitles within the .mp4 file do not work either...
