I am very sorry for the long long delay. Please accept my apologies.

I was finally able to investigate this issue in deep and found that, while using dvh works, it would be better to base the height of the PDF viewer on the height of its parent. Therefore I opened another pull request that should also fix the issue, but adjusted to the latest changes in the code and, hopefully, in a more "future-proof" way: #1227 Reviews are welcome :-)

I will then close this pull request, but thanks for your time and working on a fix, and sorry again for the long delay.
