It would be nice to track downloads of files share by a public link, preferably including the ip.

And including a location thanks to the IP :)

Good work! Thank you

Just to summarize #34, #37 and #41

I will not implement this, but I'm open to handing over the maintainership of this app to someone else. My usecase for this app also vanished, which is why there was no further feature development in the last year.

This would be a very welcome improvement.

This would be especially helpful those businesses needing the ability to forensically analyze where their data might've been accessed in the event of an accidental breach (e.g. employee accidentally throws up a public share instead of a private one, or accidentally places a file in a public share within a 'team drive' (group folder) then later realizes/corrects it). As it stands, administrators need to go through web server logs to do this, and that's a pain imo.

Would be great to see this in the future!

Isn't this the same request as https://github.com/nextcloud/files_downloadactivity/issues/25 ? And of course +1, very useful to follow pitch and internal documents and see that they are correctly read or if a follow up is needed.

Also, how feasible would it be to add a time tracker on it ? In order to know if it was read at all or just opened (in case of PDF for instance)
