Move formal german user documentation from "de" to "de_DE"
Actually the server and all apps (desktop and mobile as well) have the formal german translation at language code "de_DE".
The user documentation uses code "de" for the formal version (there is no informal version for the user docs).
This confuses translators at Transifex.
Target is to use de_DE for user docs as well.
@nickvergessen Which steps are necessary for the shift?
That would break all links that were posted anywhere, so I'm against this?
See discussion at https://help.nextcloud.com/t/die-deutsche-ubersetzung-von-nextcloud-hier-diskutieren-und-fehler-melden-was-sollte-ich-wissen-wenn-ich-bei-der-ubersetzung-helfen-mochte-oder-eine-anmerkung-habe/32139/624
The user docs have not been available in translated form for very long. That's why there aren't many links yet, I think. In a quick search, I found most of the links to the English docs on German-language sites.
My vote is therefore for the Shift. This would remove an inconsistency for the translators.
Sphinx itself supports German as de only: https://www.sphinx-doc.org/en/master/usage/configuration.html#confval-language
Best idea I could come up with would be trying to change transifex sync to map from de_DE to de there.
But while reading the docs:
e.g. the German version of myfigure.png will be myfigure.de.png by default setting
This sounds very interesting for us :)

We have "fi_FI" and "hu_HU" as well. How does that work?

Thought of this solution as well. At least there would be no confusion for the translators at Transifex

They don't …
https://docs.nextcloud.com/server/latest/user_manual/nb_NO/
It says "Edit on Github" and "Next" for the pagination
https://docs.nextcloud.com/server/latest/user_manual/de/
German says "Auf GitHub bearbeiten" and "Nächste Seite"

Do you have an idea how to achieve this?
I wonder if the language map is for that and wanted to try it on Friday, but then something crossed my plans.
E.g. we have fi_FI: fi as part of it https://github.com/nextcloud/spreed/blob/main/.tx/config#L3
https://help.transifex.com/en/articles/6265125-github-installation-and-configuration#h_94380d9cd8
I tried adding that for fi_FI now, so let's see if that correctly moves it from fi_FI to fi in https://github.com/nextcloud/documentation/tree/master/user_manual/locale
Have you seen the differents of the yaml examples and our json code?
I tried adding that for fi_FI now
Where did you make the changes? Haven't seen a related PR in docs repo.
In Transifex in the GitHub Sync settings, but it seemed to have no effect:
Ref https://help.transifex.com/en/articles/6265125-github-installation-and-configuration#h_94380d9cd8
The REMOTE_CODE is the language code supported by Transifex. And the LOCAL_CODE is your language code.
So I would have expected uk from Transifex syncs down as uk_UA, but the files are still in uk: https://github.com/nextcloud/documentation/tree/master/user_manual/locale/uk/LC_MESSAGES
But now that I posted it, maybe it is not translated 100%, let me try a sync with less %
Hello,
