Antivirus scanner AND encryption

Could you please clarify this point.

It is unclear whether the encryption with master-key ( https://docs.nextcloud.com/server/latest/admin_manual/configuration_files/encryption_configuration.html ) is compatible with Antivirus scanner (ClamAV) ( https://docs.nextcloud.com/server/latest/admin_manual/configuration_server/antivirus_configuration.html ) in background mode.

Specifically, when doing background scan (either automatic or manual with occ), does NextCloud first perform decryption and then serves actual file content to antivirus (ClamAv) or it feeds antivirus with encrypted file (hence no point of background scans with encryption enabled) ?
