Bug description
Very often I get cryptic warnings about files not being synced:
"Some files could not be synced. See below for warnings" and what follows "below" is an endless list of changes without any errors or warnings.
There is no way to filter the list, nor to diagnose the problem from the list of files.
Steps to reproduce
- Notice warning symbol on the Nextcloud app tray icon
- Click on the top bar symbol of Nextcloud (Stable Channel)
- Get perplexed...
Expected behavior
I want to see the failed sync attempts with description and have a way to filter the list of files to see errors. If files failed to sync, it is obviously relevant to be on top of the list and have some description about the failure and which files were affected.
Warnings and failures to sync files should simply be visible clearly in the app and not hidden behind multiple layers of menus, settings, exported nested archive files that I need to redact.

Additional info
I mean seriously, are you expecting every bug reporter to unpack (nested!) archive log files to redact sensitive data before submitting? Is this a joke? Should the sensitive information not be omitted by default?
Appreciate the work, love the project and support it fully but some issues are so glaring and painful that I tend to avoid using it or finding ways around the labyrinth of usability issues. Often left in the dark why certain things didn't work.
Thanks for the bug report. If you're fine with sharing the debug archive directly with us maintainers instead of publicly on GitHub we are glad to provide a file drop link for the specific issue. I have created one just now: https://cloud.nextcloud.com/s/K95yaWDKoWtQ9GX

Agreed! 💯 I feel the same way. I’ve been with Nextcloud since their launch in 2015, after moving over from OC, and I truly love this project and the community behind it. The support is great, but I do wish there was stronger quality control when releasing new features or updates. Sometimes it feels like things get pushed out without enough testing, and while that’s partly what we’re here for, I think there should be another channel more focused on QC and direct feedback to the dev team. That way, issues could get the attention they deserve and be caught earlier. I’m more than happy to help—whether it’s testing or working directly with the developers. But I believe more emphasis on QC during app releases would make a big difference.
Hello everyone, combined with the issue of the VFS trash: https://github.com/nextcloud/desktop/issues/8756 i have the same issue. My Nextcloud permanently shows a warning in the mac menu bar. I get the warning, that some files could not be sinced but there is no information about which one was affected. I am, if needed, also willing to provide a debug archive privately if wanted! Getting error without any information is something really annoying and I hope this can get fixed.
I also have the same exact issue and have been having it since 4.0.1 (now on 4.0.3). I can help troubleshoot if necessary too. Just let me know what you would like for me to send.
Same here
+1 same issue
Im syncing using VFS and I also always see a Nextcloud application has been closed. Reopen to reconnect warning when opening the folder in finder.
Essentially nextcloud desktop is not working at the moment.
