Bug description
Nextcloud doesn't minimize for the past months (year?) for me. Despite using the --background flag.
Steps to reproduce
- Use Linux Mint XFCE or any XFCE desktop I assume
- Execute Nextcloud with
--backgroundflag:/usr/bin/nextcloud --background - Nextcloud desktop will start, however NOT minimized. Despite the
--backgroundflag.
Expected behavior
Nextcloud desktop should minimize when using --background!

Ps. also you desktop client will keep logging the Nextcloud_sync.log in the old ~/.local/share/Nextcloud location. Instead of the new ~/.config/Nextcloud.
I have the same behavior on two computers with Xubuntu 24.04. The desktop client starts with open main window and log in the old ~/.local/share/Nexcloud folder.
Nextcloud version 3.15.3-20250107.145041.a595d5bcb-1.0~noble1 Using Qt 6.4.2, built against Qt 6.4.2 Using Qt platform plugin 'xcb' Using 'OpenSSL 3.0.13 30 Jan 2024' Running on Ubuntu 24.04.1 LTS, x86_64
I can reproduce this with the package from the PPA on ubuntu 24.04 (not on ubuntu 22.04 though! 🤔)
FWIW this still seems to work using the AppImage build
Same on Arch Linux with nextcloud-client-2:3.15.3-1. This is not limited to Debian and Ubuntu.
I suggest to close this as a duplicate of #5916.
This bug also occurs under Windows 10 since client version 3.14.
