On macOS virtual files, the user can choose to manually remove locally-downloaded copies of virtual files. Under the macOS File Provider nomenclature these locally-downloaded copies are "materialised" copies, and the removal of the "materialised" copies can be "evicted"

Hello @claucambra ,

thanks for the explanation. The wording chosen by Apple sounds unusual compared to the wording used in Windows. Wouldn't it be better to use the same wording here or should it stay that way?

IMO it is better to keep it this way, Apple's utilities to manage virtual file environments use this language and users may get confused if our nomenclature differs. It should be somewhat clear that macOS virtual files are an entirely different, Apple-specific system
