Make Deck attachment location configurable

Open 31337-4554551n opened this issue 4 years ago • 4 comments

Describe the bug Deck stores bew attachments in users "Deck" folders since version 1.3.0, and not the app location (yay). I cannot find any documentation about this change (my own bad) But I would just like to know

TLDR

  • How can I change the "Deck" folder name it uses to ".deck" and still have it work?

To Reproduce Open files, see new "Deck" folder

Expected behavior Change it to ".deck" and have it work

Hey, I will rename your issue to a feature request to make the location configurable, since

How can I migrate all the old attachments from their old location to where they now need to be?

is already covered by #3101

PS.: This behavior was introduced in 1.3.0 and brings a few benefits like easily be able to reuse code for sharing files and generating previews.

Oh no... I came here, hoping that I had just missed the setting for this basic feature somewhere. So adding attachments was integrated with a hardcoded, non-configurable file/folder path?

Is there any update for this 9 month old feature request that should have been part of the original scope in the first place?

It would be nice if the Deck storage location could point to an "External storage" path, as well (i.e. SFTP or SMB mount).

Could this please still been looked at? Checking in a year later with no progress on this :(
