duplicating a board copies its lists, but not the cards

Describe the bug The drop-down menu when right-clicking on the boards' list offers to duplicate a board. However, this copies lists, not cards

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Create an empty board "Test" - fill with 2 lists and 3 cards
2. Right-click on the board and use the "duplicate" menu item
3. Select the "Test (copy)" board
4. See error

Never thought about it that way. For me this is expected behaviour. Although I agree 'Use board as template' might be a better name for this action.

Yes to copying the cards, not sure what the point of cloning is without using the cards.

Should be two options:

• Clone board
• Clone board with cards

For reference, this is the UI of the Android app, which provides a checkbox when attempting to clone a board:

Deck would be very useful for project-templates if it could copy the cards with the board.

Well, before this gets closed: I need this feature too. We have recurring lists, always the same tasks, which have to be done. It is structured like this:

• before project starts
• 1. Week while project is running
• 2. Week while project is running
• evaluate after 5 Weeks
• ...

would be cool, to copy the board incl. the cards...

I am currently working on this here: https://github.com/nextcloud/deck/compare/master...bahuma20:2797-clone-cards Right now i have the REST API adjusted to accept multiple parameters to control what should be copied. Open tasks are the UI and testing.

What's the current status of this? There have been multiple proposals and PRs - it was even supposed to be in Deck release 1.7.0, but was postponed.

We are interested too in the current status of copying cards. We need and would like it. We realize Card-Dopy currently with the Deck-Android-App. This is very helpful. It would be nice and easier to find the same feature in the nextcloud-web-deck-app. Thanks!

Short side note: in the android app, copying a board it copies the files, but not linked files. When implementing it here, keep that in mind and adjust their code. Thanks for your great work!

Any news on this topic? We are very interested in this feature because we use deck as onboarding tool to manage all the tasks todo.
