Users not added to Talk when added to Circle, works fine for files

Dear all, we are leaving Teams and implementing NextCloud in our school and would like to organise our different staff meetings through Circles. We have a continues change in different teams, so we would like to be able to adopt the shared files and chats accordingly. It works like a charm for shared folders, but we have noticed that newly added Users to the secret circle are not automatically added to the chat in Talk. It works flawlessly with files and folders. We are using NextCloud 20.0.9 and are using Circles 0.20.8 - as we have booked the NextCloud with Hetzner, I do not have the option to move forward to NC 21, as of now.

If we can do any more testing under certain constellations, please do not hesitate to let us know.

Regards, John Alistair

Dear all, Hetzner has moved to NC21 (ver. 21.0.3), so we have moved to Circles v0.21.4, too. Our issue remains: we would like to use Circles' secret circles to maintain stable status groups within our school with changing members. Once a member leaves the team/circle, we would like to see him/her removed from the chat, as they are removed from the shared files & calendar, too. The same goes for new members: we would like to see them added to the ongoing chat, as he/she is added to shared files & calendar. What happens is the following in Talk: the circle is resolved to the individual members and not to the circle, as one would expect from the behaviour from shared files. We have attached two screenshots.

Appart from this little issue, we have successfully moved from MS Teams to NC completely - great job!

Kindest regards, John Alistair

We had the same problem at our school. Our (not quite elegant) solution: Add the circle a second (third, ...) time to the conversations, then NEW members of the circle get "updated". However if you remove someone from a circle you have to remove them also from the conversation one by one!

Also hoping that this will happen automatically somewhen.
