Hmm, not sure if it is worth the complexity being added to the app just to a the feature "generic task automation". What we could do though as an alternative (did that for another app once) would be to write a tasker/locale integration and then you could basically do just anything :wink:
I know this also has its downsides since it adds another app ´to be needed.
A Tasker plugin would be incredibly useful! Are there any plans to implement that, and if so, do you have a release estimation?
+1 on Tasker plugin. Actually just wanted to open an issue. Tasker plugins are also compatible with apps such as Automagic. And I constantly have problems with third party apps which offer syncing for owncloud (nextcloud is still not on the radar).
I don't think the Nextcloud app can (and should) offer the flexibility you can achieve with apps like Tasker. Or else I'd request conditions for recognizing cell towers, whether the phone is plugged in, SSIDs, a periodic timer, scripting options, the recognition of running apps and many other things.
@aronovgj what would you like to trigger via the Tasker Plugin? Just asking to collect the use cases to be implemented.
Syncing folders to or from NC or in both directions using filters by name, file type, regex, size, date and so on
It would also be nice to get information via the plugin about files or folders. For example if file x has changed or if a new file is in folder y sync it. Things like when and how often to sync and if on wifi or not can be determined by tasker without plugins
I might come up with further ideas later.
Perhaps also move files i.e pictures to a folder by date, geolocates or still after one week, month etc. and rename folder to month, city/place,
