  • [x] This is a bug, not a question or an enhancement.
  • [x] I've searched for similar issues and didn't find a duplicate.
  • [x] I've written a clear and descriptive title for this issue, not just "Bug" or "Crash".
  • [x] I agree to follow Nextcloud's Code of Conduct.

Steps to reproduce

  1. upload a ODT or KBDX file to a Nextcloud
  2. login with the Nextcloud Android app and tap the file
  3. open the file (ODT => Collabora-Online-Android; KBDX => KeePassDX or KeePassDroid)
  4. make exactly one change to the file and save it (press "back" until Collabora closes or press "check-mark" / save in KeePass*)

Expected behaviour

Changed file will be uploaded fully automatically.

Actual behaviour

File is changed on the Android file system, but not uploaded by Nextcloud.

Additional information

I'm not 100 % sure if this is a bug or a missing feature.
Because I opened the file from inside the Nextcloud app, I expect Nextcloud to recognize changes instantly. The Dropbox-448.2.8 Android app seems to do this (tested with Collabora and KeePassDX). So it should be possible in general.

I know, I can configure a folder to 15 minutes 2 way synchronization. But that's a far too long time for me.

Tested on two Fairphone 3+.
OS: /e/OS-3.0.4-t (Android-13, microG), Nextcloud + NextcloudDev from F-Droid
OS: Stock Fairphone Android-13 with GooglePlay services, Nextcloud from GooglePlay

Can confirm. My workaround for Collabora was to tap the file a second time in Nextcloud and then close it again without any changes. Maybe that somehow hints towards the root cause?
