Images do not work for markdown files - neither shown, nor opened when clicked

Open svenb1234 opened this issue 2 years ago • 2 comments

If one opens a md file in the android client the images are not shown but just a placeholder.

First expectation would be to show the images, as they are shown in the webclient, if the user has the permissions to view them.

When clicking on the placeholder the android client does not open the image either but asks the user to log-in via the webclient.

Expectation would be that at least when clicking on the placeholder the image should be opened as if one would have selected it from the file list.

The same issue was reported on the nextcloud forums: https://help.nextcloud.com/t/markdown-file-no-images-in-android-app/69376

Yep I can confirm this issue. I always thought that the markdown editor in the browser and on android would be the same, because they look so similar, but image viewing and adding seem to be an exception.

I would love to see a fix for this.

Still valid, but only for the read mode. I.e. if you download/sync the file to the android app, the pictures are not shown. If you edit the md-file, the pictures are shown.
