Address profiler build warnings

Describe the story, please be clear on scope of the story.

There are multiple build warnings reported by the profiler. We should address those warnings to help make the code more maintainable.

Be sure that all of the unit tests pass, and that any other test gaps in those areas are covered by tests. A quick attempt to address the warning about rapidxml taking up too much heap space resulting in the code compiling, but some of the unit tests started to crash.

Acceptance Criteria

There are no more build warnings, or there is a story to address the remaining build warnings.
