Open the same image across all desktops?

I want to view a massive image, 1/9th of it shown on each of 9 virtual desktops.

Can it be done with VirtualSpace?

If I may, I'd like to suggest that the following tool would be more appropriate for your use case (creating nine virtual monitors, place them appropriately, and then drag large windows to occupy multiple monitors) :
