Remove Twitter Tracker
Remove tracking and redirection of links from twitter
This is what I came here hoping this would fix. The ?s=20 etc tracking params break the Twitter UI for threads...
Thanks for reporting this. Can anyone provide me with a few examples “in the wild”? Places where I can find some of these links and redirects?
So there's:
- params from embedded Tweets from eg: https://www.theguardian.com/football/2020/jun/27/nwsl-kneeling-thorns-courage-anthem, giving a link of: https://twitter.com/mPinoe/status/1276923017025576962?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1276923017025576962&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.theguardian.com%2Ffootball%2F2020%2Fjun%2F27%2Fnwsl-kneeling-thorns-courage-anthem, you can find these wherever there's tweets embedded in news artilcles/etc
- params from shared Tweets that it's kind of hard to find in the wild since they're mostly shared in chat rooms/etc, of the form: https://twitter.com/CAVETOWN/status/1276526247380684806?s=19 (not as tracky as above, but annoying because they show the UI differently and make you click through to read a thread), I've seen
s=19
from the Android app ands=20
which I'm not sure which client it's from - t.co redirects from links in tweets, eg: https://t.co/9o7HWjZrjM?amp=1 from https://twitter.com/traversetheatre/status/1277180153563623425
