Open xscriptor opened this issue 3 months ago • 16 comments

Hello,
I tried to use OpenBar on GNOME Shell 49.0 but it’s not working.

Would you consider updating compatibility for GNOME 49.0?
Thanks for your great work!

Distro:

  • Endeavour Os.
  • Arch Linux.

Hello All,

Thanks a lot for your interest! I have been a bit tied up at work and so haven't been able to actively update OpenBar. I have a few improvements in the plan and will get to it as time permits.

Now, for Gnome 49, I have added support for it and pushed the code to the "main" branch. It would certianly help if you could try it out from their and let me know if you face any issues. I will also submit it to Gnome extension store today so that the new version will be available there in couple days (after review by Gnome extension reviewers).

Hope the update works out well for Gnome 49!

Hello! Thanks for answer, I also make a fork and a pr that is linked thinking in the people that needs the update (like me) but from now I think I'll tell them to clone the original repository and make this...

Great Job!

seemed to add some unknown issue on gnome 48 after it updated (shows error loading extension in extension manager but no noticeable issue), will have to check my other pc running gnome 49 if it fixed the intended issue without hiccups

Update: same thing on gnome 49. it shows an error occured while loading extension. such error did not pop up when using the build from xscriptorcode's PR.

The problem is basically this Xscriptor makes the fork that works but the main developer just leave the pr, I have the same issue, I just use the fork...
