Neuromore keeps saying no Bluetooth devices found
My Muse band (model MU-02) - 2016 is ON and paired with PC
Neuromore Studio Community keeps saying no Bluetooth devices found
Will there be any support for the above Model or for now it just works with MU-01 (2014)
Thanks
I'm sure there will @clifet but we only add what we need ourselves, and hope the community will also pitch in. So far we haven't needed to use the MU-02 commercially, but I'm sure its around the corner.
I'm hoping the community pitches in too, I want to contribute some time.
There's some really basic things that needs to be added ASSP. Like cut/paste & undo ...
I want to write some plugins starting January.
There's a lot of potential in this project, it could be quite helpful for many, many people.
Hello @clifet
we do support this device. Please see our Wiki page, specifically the Muse 2016 section.
No, it's still not working on OSX.
Executing muse-io has never worked for Muse 2016 headbands on OSX, it just sits there reporting no connection. Using a utility like BlueSee does in fact successfully connect and subscribes to the Muse device. The issue is not OSX's bluetooth services, it's a bug in Neuromore Studio.
With the current version of Studio it will in fact detect the Muse device (either with auto-connect or manual), and it connects as reported from the steady LED on the headband. But, once the device is connected it never appears as an active device in Studio.
So, yes, it's still broken on OSX. Please fix ...

Typical output of muse-io on OSX.

Hello @digital-cinema-arts
thank you for your feedback, we'll investigate Muse 2016 support on OSX again. Looking at your screenshots, I want to point out that:
- we do not talk Bluetooth with the Muse 2016 directly
- we let muse-io from the SDK send us the data using OSC
- hence: scanning for bluetooth muse devices in right inside studio or selecting a muse in according result popup, has no effect or may even be counterproductive, e.g. it may harm the bluetooth connection between external muse-io and the device.
- the only reason you would want to have Bluetooth enabled right in Studio settings is if you were connecting btle heart rate monitors (HRM). If not, I would suggest to even disable bluetooth support in Studio Settings - it is not necessary for Muse 2016.
- Also the muse-io must be started from the menu bar entry "Tools->Start MuseIO"
Perhaps I wasn't clear enough in my reply. Yes, I understand that currently Studio has a bug and doesn't talk to bluetooth directly on OSX, but it really should. It's not that difficult and other apps do in fact use bluetooth as an interface on OSX.
muse-io has not worked with any model other than the very first Muse headband, not "Muse 1", but the model before that. Interaxon's decision to remove the SDK access leaves us with the outdated version. muse-player kind of still works but only when dealing with OSC data. Muse Lab still works fine since its I/O is OSC not bluetooth.
My point is that your Wiki is out of date, it doesn't work. If you have access to a version of muse-io that actually works, please make it available. The only location it's been found is in the Google archives.
The series of screen I posted shows that: A) muse-io does not work B) somehow Studio is detecting the connection without the need for muse-io but does not create an active device in Studio (this is confirmed by seeing the correct Muse device name appear in Studio and the LED on the Muse device indicates a connection is established) C) Studio is broken on OSX ...
Using something like "Mind Monitor" to stream OSC to Studio is a needless step when the bluetooth capability exists on OSX. There's no need to hack something together to overcome a glaring bug in Studio.
Please fix this ...
