Is cryptonite still active?

@neurodroid it would indeed be good to have a statement on the current status:

  • Readme says it's available on Play Store, but it was unlisted there in 7/2018
  • Several patches have been applied since (latest ones from @Rudloff most likely for F-Droid inclusion), so the app still seems to work (or Pierre wouldn't have felt it worth the effort)
  • last release was 3/2015, so people wonder

Thanks in advance!

I don't have the resources to actively maintain cryptonite any longer.

The build process is pretty complicated. To my knowledge, no one other than me has ever managed to build the app.

This being said, the code should still build and I'm happy to merge pull requests. That's why I leave the project up on github.

Dropbox integration is likely broken, as I'm using an outdated version of the SDK.

Not the answer we've hoped for – but yeah, understandable. Maybe you should put that in the Readme (and while on it, remove the Play Store link from there)? And should I better remove the "ancient" version 0.7.17 (dating 3/2015) from my repo? I was hoping to replace that by a more recent version, but as there isn't such (and you removed the app from Play for a reason)…

PS: I'm not an Android dev, so I can neither contribute to the code nor to building it, sorry.

Cryptonite was removed from the Play Store for administrative reasons - I think they required a newer version of the Dropbox SDK IIRC. If your old version still works, I do not see a reason to remove it. I've updated the README according to your suggestions.

OK, thanks a lot! Not using it myself – will ask "who does" for confirmation, and then either update the description there as well (if it still works), or remove the app (if it doesn't). Will let you know then here, in case you want to link there as replacement for Play Store.

Thanks for your help, and for updating the Readme!
