I would like to use this for a project, but I'm unsure what license it uses. I may need to modify and redistribute the script with my project. Can you add a LICENSE file?

+1 Without a license file all copyrightable works default to "All Rights Reserved" which means I can't even clone the repo, let alone send PRs.

Another +1. I've built GHCi for Android with some modifications to the script, but am now wondering about the licensing situation.

What license would be preferable? Can I just copy the GHC license?

The GHC license is just a 3 clause BSD license.

Yes, perfectly fine to use that. Just make sure you replace all instances of "the University of Glasgow" with your own name or "the author".
