How To convert existing jpg file to .bytes format or webp format?

i successfully import your plugin in and i have a jpg image which i want to convert to webp file but when ever i upload my file on an online converter and convert jpg to webp and then export it into unity and press play unity gives me an error and which is: ->NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object and when i see your files in Resources folder it is webp.bytes.so how can i convert jpg files to webp.bytes? can you please tell me. and i also have a question and that is i heard that webp images can reduce apk build size.so is that true?

webp images can reduce apk build size.so is that true? unity compress image files antoher file format pvrtc, astc .. .even use jpg. that file format also compressed image but some people use more compressive algorithm like webp which hardware accelerated doesn't support
