Document which directories are cached

Right now, we're directing people to read the code in /run-build-functions.sh to see what directories are cached. I'd prefer to have them in a clearer list in a markdown file.

I kind of hesitate to create another dedicated file in addition to installed_software.md, but the content doesn't really fit under that heading.
