App Usage Time Through The Roof

Open shortpupper opened this issue 8 months ago • 10 comments

'Settings' app has a usage of 40+hrs in one day. (I swear I dont use it that much.) This could be a multitude of things just because of me on my side. But I don't know.

I have some photos here too.Screenshot_20250420_233412_DigiPaws.jpg

I think this is beacause the Settings apps is always open in the background

Wouldn't apply here, bro has 40 hours of settings in one day and most of it is after 8pm

Does the Samsung digital wellbeing show the same thing?

Having the same issue, settings has about 34 hours screentime for me.. and the samsung digital wellbeing doesn't show that high of usage time..

The api responsible for providing digital wellbeing data is written in an extremely poor way and I doubt this can even be fixed. You can add settings to ignored apps by long pressing it on the list as a workaround for now.

I tried reinstalling the app for some other reason today.. And it showed me usage stats of like 12 hours for digipaws, I think this issue only happens when we enable usage stats for the first time.

Other than today and on the first day of me using the app. I have got accurate usage stats :)

@starrocker-1 huge turnoff for new users fr. I hope we find a fix 🥀💔

@nethical6 as a temporary fix, can't we make it so that the app only start measuring usage from the moment you activate it..?

In future, if you figure it out. You can make it normal again

@starrocker-1 makes sense

I just installed digipaws, and while setting things up, I went to check the usage time option in the app. Apparently, I've been using F-Droid for 17 hours and 49 minutes in the last 5 hours lmao (I only used it for downloading DigiPaws). Thing is, 17:49 was the exact time I opened F-Droid to download the app.

it's more of a system bug. it might get resolved starting the next day.
