Mikrotik Router/Switch Support
Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. N/A
Describe the solution you'd like Support for monitoring Mikrotik RouterOS (they have another operating system called SWOS for some of their switches, but I don't think there is a viable way for you to get the data you need so I wouldn't recommend spending much time looking at it.)
RouterOS currently has two major versions, 6.x.x and 7.x.x, I would recommend focusing on 7.x.x since it's going to be the operating system Mikrotik will be running many of their higher performance equipment on and it is backwards compatible with most of their current product line. RouterOS 6.x.x also has many software constraints on it because it is running a very old Linux Kernel which may make it more difficult to develop against. That said, a large portion of the Mikrotik user base will be using 6.x.x for many years to come... So that would be up to you.
Additional context Mikrotik RouterOS is used by thousands of ISPs around the world, as far as user base goes you are going to have guys who do not have a lot of other options for visibility for their overall network and Suzieq seems like it would open up a lot of visibility for operators.
P.S. I would be more then happy to supply you with a couple license keys for Mikrotik's CHR (a version that is optimized for being run in a VM) for development. I could also get you some hardware as well if it would help.
+1
mikrotik can be easily tested against publically available VMs. i do have a VM as well as 2 mikrotik switches that could be used for testing .
Mikrotik is widely used in small service provider space for the most part
link for the VM download is here - https://mikrotik.com/download check the Cloud Hoster Router section
