After peer login expiration, the windows netbird ui client is not opening a reauth window automatically.
Describe the problem
After peer login expiration time passed, peers are auto disconnected, but netbird client ui (windows 11) doesn't open reauth browser window (often also giving no notification about the disconnect even if notifications turned on)
To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:
- Connect and authenticate netbird client ui
- wait expiration time (24h)
- client disconnects --> no reauth window opened, no notification
Expected behavior
Browser window for reauth should open automatically. (In the best case scenario some time before the actual disconnect happens, so connection is never lost.)
Are you using NetBird Cloud?

- [x] Restarted the NetBird client
- [x] Disabled other VPN software
- [x] Checked firewall settings
I can also confirm this is happening with the latest 45.1 builds. On windows using AzureAD I would like the solution to use seamless SSO if possible but maybe that is better separated into another Issue/feature request.
Changed this into a feature request, I don't think this was ever implemented, but we do plan to tackle it in near future.
actually, just a duplicate
@nazarewk They are not the same TBH if the above problem is solved by the proposed duplicate then we are OK.
Maybe I should also raise my comment as a separate feature request as that is specific to Windows client
@RHDHV-simon-sutcliffe we have this issue on a short-term roadmap, it will cover both before and after expiration cases.
https://github.com/netbirdio/netbird/pull/3955 proposes a pop-up window when session is expired.
