Mullvad VPN support
Maybe this should be generically implemented aka importing Wireguard configs, and then it will be displayed to the user.
Thank you for the report. We will consider our possibilities.
Hello @RandomTypek, we are planning our Q4 roadmap and will include routing all traffic through a NetBird peer development. We will consider a similar integration as well as part of the feature.
routing all traffic through a NetBird peer
Does this feature have any similarity with Tailscale's Exit Node feature?
+1 also waiting for this!
Hello @RandomTypek,
We're currently reviewing our open issues and would like to verify if this problem still exists in the latest NetBird version.
Could you please confirm if the issue is still there?
We may close this issue temporarily if we don't hear back from you within 2 weeks, but feel free to reopen it with updated information.
Thanks for your contribution to improving the project!
Hey, I believe this is still an interesting feature to add to Netbird.
It could be probably expanded to being able to import native Wireguard peers acting as Exit Nodes/routers and that Netbird clients can connect to.
There are two ways this issue title could be interpreted, and both would be very useful.
- Exit node Allowing [Wireguard config based VPNs] to be used as exit nodes either directly from the server node or via an exit node. (based on the link the OP meant this)
- Co-existence on a host Allowing [Wireguard config based VPNs] to be used alongside the netbird client and handling routing such that they both work as expected. This may require the other client to co-operate, but there may be something on the netbird client side that could make it easier.
I'm considering finding a way to containerize both VPN clients and chain or route traffic through the right container. Could be used for the host traffic alone or as an exit node through the anonymized VPN, or even a few VPNs (or Tor / I2P, etc.) for different specific use cases.
This may be something your the Netbird team (or in conjunction with an anonymized VPN company) could set up as a faster on host method.
I would imagine there's a big crossover demographic for this product and anonymizing VPNs that would make this worthwhile to put time into.
@chaoticbear have you looked into https://github.com/qdm12/gluetun?

Thanks @lixmal this looks super useful, maybe not the whole solution but definitely part of the way there.
Any news about future Mullvad implementation?
